(174) Chapter: What was narrated concerning voluntary Prayers during the night
(174) باب مَا جَاءَ فِي قِيَامِ اللَّيْلِ
Sunan Ibn Majah 1331
It was
narrated that ‘Abdullah bin ‘Amr said:
“The Messenger of Allah
(ﷺ) said: ‘Do not be like so-and-so, who used to pray voluntary
night prayers then stopped praying voluntary night prayers.”
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الصَّبَّاحِ، أَنْبَأَنَا الْوَلِيدُ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ، عَنِ الأَوْزَاعِيِّ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو، قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ
" لاَ تَكُنْ مِثْلَ فُلاَنٍ كَانَ يَقُومُ اللَّيْلَ فَتَرَكَ قِيَامَ اللَّيْلِ " .
