Marriage
Bulugh al-Maram 1034
Narrated Sahl bin Sa' (RA):
The Prophet (ﷺ) married a man to a woman for a dowry of an iron ring.
[al-Hakim reported it].
وَعَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ - رَضِيَ اَللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا- قَالَ : { زَوَّجَ اَلنَّبِيُّ - صلى الله عليه وسلم -رَجُلاً اِمْرَأَةً بِخَاتَمٍ مِنْ حَدِيدٍ } أَخْرَجَهُ اَلْحَاكِمُ 1 .

Bulugh al-Maram 1034
It is a portion of the long Hadith preceding in the beginning of the Book of Marriage.
وَهُوَ طَرَفٌ مِنَ الْحَدِيثِ اَلطَّوِيلِ اَلْمُتَقَدِّمِ فِي أَوَائِلِ اَلنِّكَاحِ 1 .

Bulugh al-Maram 1034
Narrated 'Ali (RA):
The dowry should not be less than ten Dirhams.
[ad-Daraqutni reported it as Mawquf (saying of a Companion, i.e. 'Ali). Also, its chain of narrators is questionable].
وَعَنْ عَلَيٍّ - رضى الله عنه - قَالَ : { لَا يَكُونُ اَلْمَهْرُ أَقَلَّ مِنْ عَشَرَةِ دَرَاهِمَ } . أَخْرَجَهُ اَلدَّارَقُطْنِيُّ مَوْقُوفًا , وَفِي سَنَدِهِ مَقَالٌ 1 .
