Mishkat al-Masabih 5594

Samura[*] reported God's messenger as saying, "Every prophet has a pond and they will vie with one another about which of them will have the largest number coming down to it. I hope that I may have the largest number." *Samura b. Jundub. Tirmidhi transmitted it, saying this is a gharib tradition.

وَعَن سَمُرَةَ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «إِنَّ لِكُلِّ نَبِيٍّ حَوْضًا وَإِنَّهُمْ لَيَتَبَاهَوْنَ أَيُّهُمْ أَكْثَرُ وَارِدَةً وَإِنِّي لَأَرْجُو أَنْ أَكُونَ أَكْثَرَهُمْ وَارِدَةً» . رَوَاهُ التِّرْمِذِيُّ وَقَالَ: هَذَا حَدِيثٌ غَرِيب
