Abu Ayyub said that the Prophet used to wash his head when he was in the sacred state. Bukhari and Muslim.

وَعَن أَبِي أَيُّوبَ: أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ يَغْسِلُ رَأْسَهُ وَهُوَ مُحْرِمٌ
